LaCresha's Lens Focuses On...page 213...Must Hate Dogs - Chapter 4

First Date

I went on a date this past Saturday, a first date.  It is the beginning stages of all of this dating business.  I decided to get dressed up and put in some effort.  I didn't know how I would end up connecting with this person, but I wanted to remain optimistic.
I had a couple friends, via text message help me pick out my outfit, I did my hair, make up and I was ready to be on my way.  Then I wasn't, he messaged me through the Plenty of Fish app saying he was going to be late.  A few minutes later he informs me he is going to be an hour late.
I'm not impressed.
Finally, I head downtown where I park my car, walk more blocks than I care to walk and arrive at the restaurant.  We get a table and our conversation was fairly easy, and then he opened up and shared details of his life.  While it was nice he felt comfortable enough to share such information and he made an attempt to connect with me when I mentioned I worked for a drug testing company.  However, when you tell me you were arrested due to a delivery of Marijuana, a total load of 3/4 tons and went to Federal Prison for FIVE years.  I have to say, my interest level plummeted substantially.
After we ate he offered to go somewhere else, so I thought he had a plan.
There was no plan.  Except to walk, on shitty sidewalks where we ended up getting lost.  My feet began to hurt so much from my shoes my legs were shaking.  I finally had to Vegas Dancer/Striper it and take my shoes off and walk around in my socks.  If I was interested in him I probably would have put my arm in his for balance and support.  But, honestly, I just wanted to get to my car and freaking leave.  While we were lost I pointed out a street, he asked how I knew (as we were looking at the street sign).  I looked at him and took a breath before I stated, "because the sign there says, 19th street."  It was shortly after I began to wonder if this guy was high.  The way he walked and talked gave me the impression he was under the influence of something, or just that dumb.
Needless to say, there will be no date two with this individual, but at least I made an attempt and tried in this pursuit of finding someone to share my life.
