LaCresha's Lens Focuses On...page 185...the 4th

Today was once one of my most favorite holidays.  There is a lot of pride in our country and the beautiful red, white and blue shines bright.  When I was younger and involved with rodeo, I would proudly wear my red, white and blue button up western shirt.  I would wear my red cowboy hat.  The horses I rode would have red, white and blue glitter stars on their hindquarters.
It was a time for celebration, reflection and family.
This year I just pretended the day didn't exist.  My family is in Wisconsin and I am in Tennessee.  I didn't have the means to head home, and although I was invited to a friends family's BBQ, I politely declined.
Hopefully next year will be different.  Only time will tell what may come of my life.  Right now I am doing my best to keep my head up and focused on getting things in order.  It has been a long, long process and I am hoping all this stress and strain lead to a life that I desire deep in my heart.
