I am not sure how much I could possibly do to express my love for the outdoors. It is one aspect which has been a challenge for me living in the south is how incredibly hot it is outside. It is also one of the reasons why I love caving so much. You can be out and about in relatively comfortable conditions no matter what it is like outside, 104 degrees? No problem, let's go caving and get out of this heat! 20 degrees outside? No worries, let's get snuggly in a cave!
Where I have not been able to find the time to go out hiking with this new writing gig I have, but I am hoping to hit a few trails before fall. Maybe I will even get to finally do the kayak trip to Nick-A-Jack cave my friend Joe and I want to put together.
Whether it is grilling, camping, gardening, hiking, caving, or sitting by a bon fire or fire pit. There is such rewards to just being outside. I find myself closer to God while in the woods or underground. I find myself more clear headed when I am able to go for a long drive, or spend time outside. There is just something soothing about it.
Back home in Wisconsin it is difficult to pick one time of year which is my favorite. Here in Tennessee, however, I really enjoy the spring and fall seasons. It is more comfortable to be outside and surrounded by the gifts of the world.
