Have you ever stepped back and reflected upon your friends? How you met them? How you have worked to maintain the friendship? What you enjoy and appreciate about them?
I have lived all over the place in this beautiful country of ours. While I have not moved as often as some, I have lived in several different areas of Wisconsin, Eugene and Portland, Oregon. I stayed in Colorado so long after my internship I could probably say I lived there. Mississippi and three regions of Tennessee.
With the time I have spent in these different areas I have met a lot of people. Many of them have become my friends. The difficult thing about having friends all over the country is it is difficult to find the time and money to go see them.
Yet, I give so much thanks and have so much gratitude for ALL of these amazing individuals who have been my friends. They mean so very much to me and I appreciate each and every single one of them. Hopefully, life will allow me to find the time to go visit them. It hasn't opened that door for me in a while and that makes me sad and miss my friends more than I already do.
With such blessings of amazing friends, I try to find a way to remember them in my prayers. When I do get to talk to them via text, e-mail or phone I try to be conscious and let them know they are appreciated and I am grateful they are a part of my life.
Who in your life do you appreciate? Have you taken a moment to let them know? It is so easily taken for granted and forgotten to say the words to express how much we care for someone. Yet, when we take that moment, I have found, it is always appreciated.
Reach out to those who are important to you, even if you have not spoken to them in a while, and let them know you love them and care about them. Those little words can mean so much to someone. Don't let another day go by without expressing your consideration for another person.
